Backyard Adventures – Auckland City Walk

Me at Falls

Today I decided to take an adventure buddy with me! One of my best friends, Jess, was jealous of all my cool adventuring and wanted to come along too. We headed for the Waitakere’s for a quick hour long loop track that a colleague of mine suggested!

Where: Right at the end of Falls Road, past the golf course in the Waitakere Ranges.

When: Year round! I went when it had just been raining and it was a bit muddy but magical!

What: Auckland City Walk is a 1 hour loop track in amongst a bunch of other walks in the Cascade Falls area of the Waitakere Ranges. You can venture off the loop to go and see a few waterfalls and rivers along the way (we did this and saw the Cascade falls) or you can just stay on the loop which ends with walking past a giant 1000 year old Kauri tree.

I definitely want to come back here! I would like to try out some of the longer loops and explore more of the area. Watch this space!
